About FanCast Productions in Queenstown
A Queenstown video production company led by a broadcast-trained producer, filming events, brands, weddings, sport and film across Central Otago, with a sister crew in Melbourne.
Dave Maguire
Dave is a video producer, director and storyteller with roots in global sports media. He came up through live sports broadcasting across AFL, cricket and soccer, and has worked with broadcasters including Apple TV and Westbrook Media in London. That is where the discipline comes from: shoots that run to time, crews that know their jobs, and live productions that do not fall over.
FanCast itself started with podcasting. Our own show, FanCast AFL, was built from scratch with multiple cameras, professional audio and a format made for YouTube and live streaming, and it is still how we test ideas before we bring them to clients.
Queenstown is home now. Dave and his wife Cati also make Tuned In Trip, a van life channel that passed 10,000 YouTube subscribers in 90 days, and created the mockumentary series OnlyVans MatchMaker.

Dave founded CamerAcademy, teaching in Queenstown, Cromwell and Dunedin. We built its website and student app too. Websites and apps
The crew
We would rather build a crew here than fly one in. Toni runs live switching as our Technical Director, Luciana and Leda shoot and document behind the scenes, and editors like Izaan Ansari cut our series work. On the Aluume build a local trainee got his first paid days on set, and a young Queenstown editor cut the footage.
For bigger productions we draw on a network of cinematographers, sound recordists, editors, colourists and production assistants across Queenstown and Melbourne, and we are sponsored by Queenstown Camera Co for cinema camera hire.
