Three days, broadcast-style
WellFest is one of New Zealand's more unusual wellness festivals: music, movement, workshops and a lot of genuine connection, held at WellSpace in Queenstown. For 2026 we ran it as a live production, not a camera at the back of a tent.
The main stage had four cameras: three locked off and one roaming. Wireless transmitters linked them to an ATEM Mini Pro ISO, which switched the live stream and recorded every camera separately for the edit afterwards.
The team on the day
Toni ran the switcher as Technical Director for all three days. Luciana and Leda operated cameras and covered the grounds, and the four of us stayed in contact across the site to catch moments as they happened.
Away from the stage
Much of what makes a festival film is not on the programme. Between sets we filmed the workshops, the conversations and the quiet moments: a facilitator in full flow, strangers finding common ground, a musician just before walking on.
Still working a year later
